America will get the government it deserves

I think it was Jefferson that said (I paraphrase) "…the country will pretty much get the government it deserves."  But then again, I think he also said something about the US needing regular revolutions.  Anyway I pretty much give up on this election.  I have totally maxed out on lies and meanness being treated as legitimate news and petty name calling masquerading as meaningful debate and polls that prove Americans are incapable of rational thought and are just as selfish, dishonest, hypocritical and mean spirited as they appeared at the Republican convention.  I pretty much feel like that’s that, hope is gone and like Harland Ellison said years ago, "I will laugh at you when you destroy the world but shed a tear also because you assholes are taking me with you."  Again I paraphrase, so?  Get over it!  Put on your big girl panties & deal with it!
